Ehime Prefecture is a prefecture where approximately 70% of the land area is covered by forests. The collection also contains many works related to forests. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the designation of Ishizuchi National Park, and to commemorate this, we will explore the mountain's appeal through the works and words of printmaker Azechi Umetaro, who has repeatedly depicted the mountain. In conjunction with this exhibition, we will also be introducing new works by artists with ties to the prefecture. Please take your time to enjoy this encounter between art and forests.
