Exhibition

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the designation of Ishizuchi National Park, we will be exhibiting works by Umetaro Azechi and other artefacts related to the prefecture's rich forests, as well as works by artists with ties to the prefecture. Enjoy a special moment weaving art and the forest together.

[Collection Highlights]
We are showcasing our museum's most prized masterpieces. Enjoy the diverse collection, including related exhibits from overseas and works from the "Shuntaro Tanikawa Picture Book Department Store Exhibition," which is being held at the same time. This year's featured artist is Umetaro Azechi. His works will be introduced at the "Forest Riddle Museum VI," which is also being held at the same time!

Poet Shuntaro Tanikawa has produced over 200 picture books since the 1960s, dealing with a wide range of themes including wordplay, perception of the world, nonsense, life, war, and death. The exhibition will feature around 20 of his picture books, introducing the world of Tanikawa's picture books in a variety of formats, including original illustrations, video, recitation, sound, and installation, making it enjoyable for both children and adults.
