Ryusuke Fukahori Exhibition
Into the shimmering surface of the water
Artist Ryusuke Fukahori, captivated by goldfish, continues to create art inspired by them. His innovative technique, sometimes called "2.5D painting," involves layering acrylic paints onto transparent resin, creating goldfish with a sense of depth and realism. While Fukahori makes his works appear almost alive, he confronts the fact that they are layers of inanimate paint. This confronts the fundamental realism problem of the coexistence of illusion and matter.
This exhibition presents a comprehensive collection of paintings, videos, and large-scale installations, including new works. Come and experience the world of "Goldfish in Full Bloom," where we are invited to drift between reality and illusion.
