Collection Exhibition I/2026: Commemorating the 76th National Tree Planting Festival Ehime 2026

Forest Riddle Museum VII

Have you ever looked up at the Japanese archipelago from above and seen it covered in green? Forests cover two-thirds of Japan's land area, and the majority of these are artificial forests created after World War II. These forests, nurtured by human hands, are maintained and circulated through human use and replanting.

The National Tree Planting Festival began in 1950 with the aim of fostering a love for forests. This year, it will be held on May 17th in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture. To commemorate this festival, we will introduce the cycle of Ehime's forests through our museum's collection, selected by designers active throughout the prefecture, and a space designed specifically for this exhibition.

We hope you will relax and immerse yourself in the charm of forests and art conveyed through design.
